Exquisitely*Joy Vernissage #1 2016

by Joy Kimono November 23, 2016

Dear Guests, Customers, and my Community,

Thank YOU for signing up onto my website.  I am excited to share with you my passion project and my love affair with kimonos.

Radical self-expression started early in my life growing up in the city of Hong Kong.  Creating fashion has always been a dream and a passion.  I handmade my first kimono at Central Saint Martin’s out of bamboo cotton in 2011.  While standing at the crossroad between life as a yoga teacher and an architect still-on-extended-sabbatical, I accidentally started this brand.

Exquisitely*Joy is an exclusive brand.  The website will be accessible as a private by-invitation-only platform.  As my guest, my returning customer, and a member of our community, you are welcome to invite your friends to join the mailing list.  Please only invite friends who you know would appreciate what you see on the site.

I would also like to take this opportunity to share with you the meaning of the brand logo I have co-designed a few year ago.  Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by Astrology, Symbolism, Numerology, and Magic.  So here we go...

Start from the center.  The Eye , the all-seeing eye, the visionary, the third eye, the inner vision, the worldview.   Around it are 14 spikes, or two overlapping groups of 7 spikes.  The number seven represents likeminded people.  Overlapping two rings of 7 spikes represent the overlapping communities of likeminded people.  There are 7 colors in a rainbow and 7 colors for the main chakras.   The spikes resemble rays of light emanating from the Eye, like the sun from far away or a campfire from above.  This is the campfire of Truth and unconditional love.   The number 13 represents unconditional love and is a highly karmic number.  There are the 13 Grandmothers who are protecting the planet as well as the 13 lunar cycles in a year.   Sitting around the campfire are 13 people holding hands, each with the mission of Oneness (I), co-creating the perfect world (circle, globe, planet Earth) where likeminded communities co-exist in equality, balance, unity, and equanimity.

Whether I identify myself as an architect, a brand owner, a fashion designer, a developer, a yoga teacher, or an artist, this symbol serves to remind me of who I am and what my life's work is.  And I hope by sharing with you things meaningful to me that we may be able to relate to each other more.

Starting today, November 24, 2016, until December 15, 2016, you could use the password ‘SALON’ to enter the site.   During this private viewing period, please enter ‘X%’ for promotional code to enjoy a 10% discount.  Please note that our shipment cut-off date is December 15, 2016 for any X’mas shopping.
